About

My educational background includes a B.S. in Chemical Biology, Highest Honors, from UC Berkeley, an MBA from UC San Diego's Rady School of Management, and a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine degree from California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. I have years of scientific research experience in academia and the biotech industry, which informs how I connect more ancient forms of healing to our modern understanding of medicine today.

My practice involves nourishing wellness and facilitating the movement through trauma held in the mind-body.

In general, acupuncture treatment supports reduction of inflammation and stress, and facilitates movement of stagnant blood/energy in our systems. The key to the deepest treatments is diagnosing correctly the areas of the body and the acupuncture points that most facilitate the needed movement and flow within the body.

This approach to acupuncture and internal healing pairs well with mind-body practices such as mindfulness, meditation, contemplation, yoga, qigong, and martial arts. It is recommended that clients be willing to do their individual inner work of reflection, self-care, and deepening mind-body connection to gain the best results.

Regarding trauma healing, the types of trauma worked with includes:

Medical Trauma - In our times, many clients have gone through debilitating and life-changing surgeries and pharmaceutical regimens. Through great patience, consistency, and dedication, clients have found a new balance in life with greater mobility, less pain, and a renewed hope for the future.

Childhood, Family, and Relationship Trauma - The internal healing methods can directly support the unwinding of long-held patterns that hold us back from reaching our full potential in the present. Clients have found freedom from issues they have been carrying for decades, now being able to show up more fully in current relationships and in day-to-day life.

Processing Grief - Our society often does not give individuals adequate time and space to process deep grief related to life's losses. The internal healing methods help support individuals to move through grief, and include instruction for clients to learn how to more fully move through deep emotions.
